Mushroom Quest

Right before Christmas Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Mushroom Quest on the Nintendo Switch. This puzzle video game has a similar feel of the old Adventures of Lolo video games. The Adventures of Lolo video games were released on the 8-bit NES and had more levels, and actually looked better, and sounded better than Mushroom Quest. You might disagree with me on that. Look at the pictures side by side and let me know.

Mushroom Quest includes thirty levels. That means they start simple and then get more difficult around level fifteen. That difficulty increases again at level twenty. There are patterns to get through the levels in Mushroom Quest. We use boxes to fill holes. We use keys to unlock doors. Sometimes we need to turn switches on and off again to progress. The more I played Mushroom Quest the more I thought differently concerning how to progress.

Mushroom Quest has nice music, and retro graphics. Families will find a real puzzler in Mushroom Quest. I did get stuck a few times before I thought of a different way to get through the level. Once I did that I itemized it in my brain because I needed to use that same methodology in future levels. Mushroom Quest challenged me mentally, and made me feel good about myself once I solved it.

Mushroom Quest is a forty-seven meg download. If you figure out how to solve the levels then Mushroom Quest can be an extremely quick game. Few people will think of all the right concepts the first time. Then if you make one mistake you will need to start the level all over again. Our mushroom character can fall into holes or the levels can be reset. There is no real violent content within Mushroom Quest.

I find Mushroom Quest to be very family friendly. Parents may need to assist kids in how to solve certain levels. Everything in the level is set in the exact spot for a reason. Once you discern that reason then you will understand what you need to do. Boxes that are stuck against walls cannot be pulled back. There is no undo in Mushroom Quest. Starting the level over again is the closest thing.
