Skyscraper
SCORE: 54
The bad movies starring Dwayne Johnson are
starting to pile up. Skyscraper is the latest movie we watched. I knew
this movie was received poorly. I knew this movie had some controversy
surrounding it. Real people with missing limbs that are actors were
denied a role so we could get some bad acting from someone that some
people consider a star. The acting in Skyscraper is horrible.
I was very curious about the story behind Skyscraper. A rich man builds
the tallest building ever. He is close to opening the residential area
in the building. He has a security expert (Fruity Pebbles) make sure
everything is good. Some bad guys invade and set the building on fire.
They steal the security tablet and hunt the rich man. Why? SPOILER
ALERT! He has a drive with all of their bank accounts when they extorted
money from him.
Skyscraper has fire, death, blood, violence, lack of attire, brief
enticement to lust, bad language, and more. It felt like this movie was
trying to capture the first Die Hard to me. There are so many parts of
Skyscraper that make no sense. The main character gets his wife and son
out of there with his daughter close by. It makes more sense to me to
get all three out at once. Plot convenience is obviously why.
The writers for Skyscraper may have been connected to IT Crowd with the
whole: "turn it off and on," concept. SPOILER ALERT! That concept saves
the day near the end of the movie. Skyscraper is predictable to the
letter. There were some here at Family Friendly Gaming that found
Skyscraper to be boring. He did have a headache at the time so that may
have had something to do with it.
The bonus content on the discs are Commentary with the director, Dwayne
Johnson Embodying A Hero, Inspiration, Opposing Forces, Friends No More,
Kids in Action, Pineapple Pitch, and more commentary. It takes one hour
and forty-three minutes to watch Skyscraper. There are plenty of forced
almost death incidents in Skyscraper. I doubt I will watch this movie
again.
