Switchy Road

I remember when Nintendo was hating on apps and complaining how apps cost them money. Now Nintendo is making their own apps and porting quite a few of them to their systems. Switchy Road is the latest example of this to come into Family Friendly Gaming. I am happy we were given a digital download code for Switchy Road on the Nintendo Switch. Switchy Road is simplistic in what we need to do. Switchy Road can also be described as mindless fun.

We choose one of three difficulties when we start to play Switchy Road. Then we change the shape of the object to fit through the gates. We can be a sphere, rectangle, or triangle. The road will randomly generate in front of us. The road changes colors in Switchy Road. All of this happens in a random fashion that goes back to that mindless fun comment from the first paragraph.

Switchy Road keeps a count of every single gate you went through. As that count climbs I noticed the gates started to come faster. One mistake and it is game over. Switchy Road reminds me of old arcade games where it is one life, and one shot. Switchy Road also has the endless runner kind of mentality to it. The more I played Switchy Road the more addictive it became.

The download size to Switchy Road is seventy-two megs. Switchy Road is a really small game in terms of memory size. There is no physical copy version of Switchy Road that I am aware of. I did a bit of research. I did find an app version of Switchy Road on the market. Hence my intro to this review for Switchy Road on the Nintendo Switch. At the time of this review Switchy Road is selling for $4.99 on the Nintendo Switch.

I enjoyed my time with Switchy Road on the Nintendo Switch. This is one of those games where you can zone out, and just have a bit of fun. I did not have to think about much. I just worked on getting a high count. The graphics are a bit small. The music is nice to listen to. I hope to see more games like Switchy Road in the near future.
