The Umbrella Academy Season One
SCORE: 65
As long time readers of Family Friendly
Gaming know I am really big into the physical copy movement, DVDs and
Blu-rays for television shows. I heard about The Umbrella Academy from
somewhere and decided to check it out. The story goes all these women
gave birth on the same day. What was strange is none of them were
pregnant when the day started. How did this happen? The Umbrella Academy
Season One does not really show.
The issues families will have with The Umbrella Academy Season One are
violence, blood, bad language, sexual deviancy, sex outside of marriage,
drugs, alcohol, and more. There are different classes of people in The
Umbrella Academy Season One. Those with powers are put above the rest of
us even though they have as many issues if not more.
Time travel and trying to stop the end of the world are key themes in
The Umbrella Academy Season One. The best way I can describe The
Umbrella Academy Season One is a disgruntled X-Men. There is a gentleman
who runs the academy and trains some of these kids to use their powers.
He has a talking chimp friend, and the mother is a robot. There are
plenty of mysteries that are explored in The Umbrella Academy Season
One.
The character interactions change over time. This group of kids grew up
and left because of a variety of issues. One of them even died. Another
can communicate with the dead. Not a very useful power unless it grows
into more. I will not spoil that for you. The Umbrella Academy Season
One has a few surprises and plenty of things I guessed way ahead of
time. There are only ten episodes of The Umbrella Academy Season One.
There is plenty of humor in The Umbrella Academy Season One. Most of it
is situational. The Umbrella Academy Season One tells the story from the
present and shows flash backs to the past to explain things. Mistakes
were made and the end of this season leads me to believe they may get
cleaned up in the second season. At least I hope they do.
