A Tale of Paper

Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital
download code for A Tale of Paper on the Playstation 4. A Tale of Paper
is only available in the digital format, and it is only available on the
Playstation 4. There are no physical copies of A Tale of Paper
available, and owners of other systems are not able to purchase and
download. Another way of saying that is A Tale of Paper is a digital
Playstation 4 exclusive at this time. I wonder if A Tale of Paper will
port to the PS5?
We play Line in A Tale of Paper. He is a paper boy character in a rather
dark and depressing world. Line has a really cool power. He can use the
power of origami and transform into different objects. Players can turn
into a frog or a ball for example. The frog can not walk but he can jump
much higher. Line can run around and jump. The ball can roll through
pipes that bring us to new areas. I had to swap my character quite often
in A Tale of Paper.
The origami swapping in A Tale of Paper happens instantly. We don’t get
a long cut scene showing all of the folds like we did in Paper Mario
Origami King. I like being able to quickly swap because it enhances the
gameplay. There are puzzle elements in A Tale of Paper too. If you get
stuck in the puzzles then you are stuck. I found no hints or clues
whenever I hit a brick wall and was confused. Which is a shame.
A Tale of Paper is a bit on the short side if you are capable of solving
all of the puzzles. There are some scary moments in A Tale of Paper too.
That whole spider thing was freaky if you know what I mean. There are
scraps of paper in A Tale of Paper that can be collected by the player.
Expect to make extra effort to find all of them. They are generally in
harder to reach locales. We go back through areas after earning new
powers which are pretty cool in A Tale of Paper.
Be careful around any liquids in A Tale of Paper. They are bad and will
cause your paper boy Line to respawn. I think A Tale of Paper would have
been great in VR. I hope a PS4 VR version of A Tale of Paper is created.
I had trouble at times noticing depth while playing A Tale of Paper. A
PS4 VR version of this 3.1 gig downloadable video game might help with
that. The music can get a little creepy in A Tale of Paper at times. I
enjoyed A Tale of Paper more than any of the criticisms I have.
