Arrog

Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Arrog on the Nintendo Switch. This downloadable game can be found on app stores, and Steam as well. Arrog clocks in at just over nine hundred megs in terms of memory size. Arrog is a twenty to thirty minute experience. Like watching a television show. There are simple little puzzles the player needs to solve while playing this downloadable only video game.

Graphically Arrog did not impress me. Mainly Arrog is black and white. There are a few colors here and there. Arrog is creepy and depressing most of the time. The music in Arrog goes from okay to creepy. Most of Arrog perplexed me. What was going on? Why is this going on? What is the point of Arrog? I will get into how Arrog is described in just a bit. I may have missed that entire message if I had not been told beforehand.

Arrog is about an old sickly man accepting his death. SPOILER ALERT! The funeral goes from being sad to massive celebrations that he is dead. The circle of life religious belief is shown in Arrog to some degree. The after life concept is a bit odd and does not align with the super majority of Americans in terms of Judaeo-Christian. Why does that matter? It is the audience that will considering purchasing Arrog in America after all.

The controls can be a bit touchy in Arrog. Thankfully we only need to get things close for the game to accept them. Which is needed with how difficult it is to line things up just right. The puzzles are a bit on the small and simple side. I ran into a few glitches and a game lock up while playing Arrog on the Nintendo Switch. We are not told what to do. We move a light around and interact with different things in Arrog to progress.

I found Arrog to be a bit on the boring side. I know there are those that consider this game to be art. Some of those same people consider elephant dung on a painting to be art as well. I am not sure they are reliable sources to listen to. That is my opinion can disagree. I found Arrog to be a real downer on so many levels. I deleted Arrog on my Switch and plan to never play it again.
