Peter and I did of Axis Football 2020. If you missed it please click
here. If you read the Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football 2019 review you
know we are starved for any football action that is not Madden NFL. We
had not even heard of the Axis Football franchise. Peter was checking
video game releases that we might have missed and found out about Axis
Football 2020 on the PC and Xbox One.
We asked for a reviewable copy of Axis Football 2020 on the Xbox One and
the company quickly responded with a digital downloadable code. I am not
aware of a physical copy edition of Axis Football 2020 in the United
States at this time. I hope this franchise grows into physical copies at
some point in the future. Axis Football 2020 is 2.2 gigs in terms of
memory size. Bear in mind Axis Football 2020 is an indie created
football game.
There are thirty six teams within Axis Football 2020. The modes in Axis
Football 2020 are Franchise, Play Now, Create and Settings. We can play
Axis Football 2020 in Exhibition, Coach, Spectate, 2P Match, and 2P
Coach. The loading takes a bit and the audio arrives before the video.
Meaning we hear cheering and announcing before ever seeing anything but
a loading screen. We have seen this same issue in a variety of indie
games.
The live stream we did of Axis Football 2020 on Twitch showed off a
variety of glitches. Players would magnetically attract to tackle. We
would glitch through players. Defenders might stand there and not even
try to tackle a quarterback while he scrambled for a touchdown. Running
horizontally away from a defender would sometimes allow us to turn a
corner for a large gain. If there is a momentum meter it is really
strange. At times anyone could score and other times nothing would work.
It was a bit perplexing.
Axis Football 2020 looks good and I love the zoom in as we are running
down the sidelines for a possible score. The announcers are decent and
have on topic things to say quite often. The kicking is great in Axis
Football 2020. We had a blast playing Axis Football 2020 on the Xbox
One. If you watch that football game it is one of the best football
games of all time. The ending was decided on what would happen in one
play. Those make the greatest games to watch.
I like Axis Football 2020. I am glad this franchise is out there. I
believe Axis Football 2020 could surpass Madden NFL in a few years. From
what I heard Axis Football 2020 has gotten better each year. We have
retiring players, practice squads, depth charts, stats and more. It is
neat to see another football game. The crowds could look better and some
of the game play elements need to be cleaned up. The team names are
hilarious. I hope this franchise grows and expands in the future.
