Blue’s Clues & You
SCORE: 78
I am so very thankful Family Friendly
Gaming was given a retail version of Blue’s Clues & You on DVD. This is
a Walmart exclusive. This is the first time I have seen the television
show since the main human host was replaced. I know the selection was
extremely controversial and highly divisive. As cool as it would have
been to put John Cena in that role I do not think he would fit well. The
current host does not fit very well either. So maybe John Cena would
have worked.
Blue looks amazing in Blue’s Clues & You. We get a mish mash of
different art styles in Blue’s Clues & You. Kids generally get into
Blue’s Clues & You. We did get comments about the new host trying to
hard, and not being very bright. The new host learns how to play Blue’s
Clues, skidoo, sit in the thinking chair and more. The notebook now has
the phone attached to it on the other side. The phone acts pretty modern
in Blue’s Clues & You.
We get some songs in Blue’s Clues & You too. The mail song, email song,
and more are in Blue’s Clues & You. Few of the songs were a hit though.
I am not clear what is off there. Something felt wrong so they did not
quite connect with the audience. Mail time is always email time in
Blue’s Clues & You. I suppose kids need to learn about emails in our
modern world. I enjoyed most of the music in Blue’s Clues & You. The
ones where there were not words being sung at the same time. Blue acts
the same.
The bonus content within Blue’s Clues & You are How to Play Blues Clues,
Josh & Blue Vlog, and ASL Word of the Week. Please note there are
multiple features under the Vlog, and ASL Word of the Week. I did not
understand why there was no sound on the ASL Word of the Week at first.
Then I figure out the acronym and it made perfect sense. Much of the
content in the bonus area is from the show so it feels familiar.
Blue’s Clues & You has one thing that confused me and our viewers. There
is a Vlog about holiday shopping. Everyone kept asking what holiday they
were shopping for, and was this part of the war on Christmas. I did not
have answers for all of the inquiring minds. Kids can learn about
colors, shapes, and sizes in Blue’s Clues & You. Adults will have more
of a problem watching Blue’s Clues & You than kids will.
