Galaxy Quest
SCORE: 73
I have no idea how I run across movies
like Galaxy Quest. I remember watching this movie when it first came
out. Due to that I wanted to share Galaxy Quest with my teenage boys.
Neither of them had heard of Galaxy Quest before. I made sure not to
spoil the movie for them either. They enjoyed this movie tremendously
laughing at various parts. I laughed so hard a few times I nearly cried.
The issues families will have with Galaxy Quest are violence, blood,
lack of attire, enticement to lust, bad language, torture, and more.
Galaxy Quest hints at certain characters having sex outside of marriage.
Alcohol is shown in its bad side in Galaxy Quest thanks to a hang-over.
Tim Allen, Alan Rickman, and Sigourney Weaver headline Galaxy Quest. I
am very thankful I received this movie as a Christmas gift.
There is one bad word in Galaxy Quest that is replaced with another
word. I am so thankful that was done. It really improves this movie. One
of the special features brings attention to it and shows the lip
movements so viewers can see the real words they wanted. Again I am glad
it was cleaned up. It helps this movie and the words used fit perfectly
in my opinion. There are some very scary aliens in Galaxy Quest.
The premise of Galaxy Quest is simple. These actors are going to
conventions from a science fiction show they were once a part of. They
all have their own issues, especially with one another. An alien race
saw the show and thought it was real and true history. They make the
ship for real, and enlist the actors to use the ship to fight off an
evil alien trying to kill of their entire species.
As you can probably imagine this leads to numerous humorous
opportunities in Galaxy Quest. Flying out of the space dock is my
personal favorite scene. That is when I laughed so hard I nearly cried.
Galaxy Quest mirrors Star Trek is quite a few ways. In many ways Galaxy
Quest is a thought provoking analysis on how we are society treat
certain actors from certain television shows. It certainly opens my eyes
to conventions.
