Handball 21
SCORE: 70
There have been plenty of disappointments
in 2020. Sports video games would not go on that listing. I appreciate
new and different sports games that have made it to the marketplace.
There was all kinds of excitement here at Family Friendly Gaming
concerning Handball 21. The only thing I knew about Handball is the game
where two people play one on one and they throw the ball off a wall.
Sort of like racquetball but with one wall only.
Handball 21 on the Personal Computer (PC), Playstation 4 (PS4), and Xbox
One (XBONE) is way different than I expected. There are two teams in
Handball 21. We play on a court that is a mixture between a basketball
court and a soccer field. There are goals and goalies in Handball 21.
There are teams and lines. The player trying to score must stay behind a
certain curved line to try and make a goal. Sounds simple right?
The modes in Handball 21 are Quick Match, League, Solo, My Squad, Online
Match, Challenges, My Collection, Controls, Options and Credits.
Handball 21 is very offensive heavy. I had issues defending in Handball
21 every single game I played. This led me to a lot of frustration and
confusion about why my goalie was not blocking the ball even though he
stood in the way. I watched my goalie move his leg out of the way and
let the other team score.
Even on the easiest setting Handball 21 is maddeningly difficult. I took
the best team in the game and lost 9-4, 13-5, and 10-4. Want to know the
real kicker about those losses? I was playing against the worst team I
could find in Handball 21. How is that even possible? How can I lose
that badly over and over again playing the best team against the worst
team? I can think of plenty of other sports games that you would need to
try really hard to barely lose in that same scenario.
The graphics in Handball 21 look decent. I did not even know this was a
sport. I wish there was some way to steal the ball or be more aggressive
on defense. The music in Handball 21 is fun to listen to. There are
multiple leagues and teams in Handball 21 to play. I am glad I was
exposed to Handball 21. Gamers into difficult video games will eat up
Handball 21. For me losing all the time is extremely frustrating.
