John Madden Football

Did you catch the stream we did of John Madden Football? If not please click here. We had some fun playing this retro game. Paying subscribers can pick the games we stream on Youtube and/or Twitch. Which is a really cool feature we are now offering. Viewers of the FFG Haul videos know what games we have available to play too.

The retro graphics in John Madden Football are decent. The fans do not look that great. More effort was put into the stairs. The players look decent in John Madden Football. The sounds in John Madden Football a bit on the light side. We get some good hitting sounds but not a lot beyond that. Madden does have some good information in written words in select parts of the game.

We don’t get a lot of modes in John Madden Football. We do get plenty of football teams. I had real issues figuring out what would work and what would fail in John Madden Football. At times running worked great, and then it dried up. Passing would work and then fail. I do like the windows that pop up in terms of the passing game in John Madden Football. I question their accuracy at times. The receiver is wide open, I pass and my receiver is there with five defenders.

I had fun playing John Madden Football even if it is a bit on the limited side. There are definitely better football games in this era in my opinion. John Madden Football is solid and shows why that franchise continued on for so long. In fact is continues on to this day.

It is always fun going back and seeing the roots of a variety of franchises. John Madden Football lets us see the good and the bad from this game. Noah was not as impressed with John Madden Football. Peter does not mind some of these retro games. I enjoy them since I missed them when they were originally released.
