Knightin'+

I appreciate the fact Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Knightin'+ on the Nintendo Switch. This newly made retro video game is a lot like the 8-bit Legend of Zelda video game. There are four dungeons to play in Knightin'+. The dungeons are Forsaken Ruins, Ancient Pyramid, Deserted Temple, and Dark Tower. One dungeon must be beaten to unlock the next one in Knightin'+.

New items, and skills are acquired as we play through Knightin'+. The storyline in Knightin'+ tries to be funny. If you need to grind for money go to the next floor, and then come back. All of the enemies will reset that way. I found this beneficial when I needed more money to purchase something from one of the stores. There are numerous save tiles in Knightin'+.

I noticed Knightin'+ got more difficult the longer I played it. The retro overhead graphics fit the theme of this game. It felt like being in an original Zelda game with just the dungeons. The retro music was cool. I noticed some similarities in the music in Knightin'+ to other older franchises. I felt some Final Fantasy in there if you know what I mean.

We use our weapons in Knightin'+ to take down the enemies. Collecting gold as often as we can. There are some puzzles to solve in Knightin'+. I had to look around for clues to how to solve the puzzles in other rooms. Some of them are pretty complex and would take numerous attempts if the player tried to solve them without those clues. I gave up the first time until I found the solution on the floor of another room.

The good news concerning Knightin'+ is this is one of those games that shows there are plenty of ideas left to be done in the retro style. I would love to see some retro RPG compilations in the physical format. Knightin'+ would be a nice candidate for that idea. Family Friendly Gaming continues to give companies ideas that will make them money. Do you think they will share those profits with us?
