MLB The Show 20

Did you enjoy my Twitch streams of MLB The Show 20? I had some fun playing this baseball video game. I also played MLB The Show 20 with my father. MLB The Show 20 is a step backwards in some regards. In other ways MLB The Show 20 moves the franchise forward.

The controls in MLB The Show 20 take a step backwards. Why implement controls from the failed 2K baseball franchise? The amount of content in MLB The Show 20 takes a step forward. We are finally getting back to how much content we had in previous MLB The Show video games. This happens every single time a new system is released. Near the end of the PS4 lifespan we are getting the most amount of content. The PS5 version next year will have a whole lot less content.

The modes in MLB The Show 20 are Diamond Dynasty, Custom Leagues, Play Now, March to October, Franchise, Road to the Show, Community Market, My Inventory, Vaults, History & Profile, Leaderboards, Media, Moments, Custom Practice, Challenge of the Week, Options Explorer, Home Run Derby, Retro Mode, Post Season, and more. I did not list the changes to the audio, video, presentation, and more options.

MLB The Show 20 looks good, and it sounds good. We can challenge calls, and MLB The Show 20 is very home run heavy. I found it tough to play small ball in MLB The Show 20. There is music in MLB The Show 20 that your family could find offensive. I am shocked the ESRB missed that entirely. Thankfully the music can be turned off in MLB The Show 20.

To me MLB The Show 20 is not as much fun as previous versions. The lack of true competition continues to hurt this game. I did not find a first person mode in MLB The Show 20 either.
