Mad Tower Tycoon

Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Mad Tower Tycoon on the Xbox One. This skyscraper simulation video game is interesting in so many ways. There are certain things each building needs. Mad Tower Tycoon understands this and takes us through that in the tutorial. Please note the tutorial can be skipped and the game will do that for you. I actually got stuck in the tutorial the first time I played Mad Tower Tycoon. I had the game show me what needed to be done and how.

Mad Tower Tycoon clocks in at 1.3 gigs in terms of memory usage. I was unable to find a physical copy version of Mad Tower Tycoon in the United States at the time this review was written. There is a Sandbox mode and seven different scenarios included with Mad Tower Tycoon. When we play Mad Tower Tycoon we pick the scenario, difficulty, size of land, background, ambiance, tutorial on/off, and realistic or not.

I love the idea and concept of Mad Tower Tycoon. It is cool to add a lobby, shops, and more in Mad Tower Tycoon. The music is okay, and grew on me over time. The graphics are okay. I had trouble figuring out how to zoom in though. I love being able to speed up time to make things happen faster in Mad Tower Tycoon. We can also pause time while we are planning out the building we are creating in this simulation video game.

I had one major problem in Mad Tower Tycoon. The controls absolutely killed me. I struggled with the controls in Mad Tower Tycoon over and over again. We press a button then a certain stick to pick, then use different buttons to pick. We have an on screen cursor but can’t use it to select things on certain menu screens. Why? I should be able to use the cursor to select things to make it go a bit faster. For me these controls ruined the gameplay experience.

Mad Tower Tycoon feels like a Personal Computer (PC) game ported over to the consoles. I wish the controls were better on the console version personally. I love the concept of Mad Tower Tycoon. I love how we can pick different rooms and put them places. I also wish the tutorial explained a few things better. Like putting a maintenance room underground. Or make that lobby longer. There are lots of little improvements that would have helped a noob in this game.
