Monster Truck Championship
SCORE: 77
Family Friendly Gaming was provided a
digital download code for Monster Truck Championship on the Xbox One for
this review. Monster Truck Championship can also be found on the
Nintendo Switch, Personal Computer, and Playstation 4. Monster Truck
Championship is just over three gigs in terms of memory size on the Xbox
One. There is a physical copy version of Monster Truck Championship
available on the console versions.
We were provided a copy of Monster Truck Championship before it had
officially launched to the public. Since my dad was swamped with so many
companies wanting to pay for our hard work I was not able to stream this
game, or record videos of it before it launched. Please note we were not
provided any compensation for any of the hard work we did on covering
this game. I want to be completely transparent about that.
We can play Monster Truck Championship in Career, Quick Play,
Multiplayer and Options. Monster Truck Championship includes events, a
garage, training, and management. There are a wide array of different
kinds of events we can do in Monster Truck Championship. We race,
perform tricks, and more. There are one on one races and racers with
multiple trucks. I like how many of the tracks have different paths in
them in the three leagues.
The controls were my biggest problem with Monster Truck Championship.
They are a bit loose and can be difficult to adapt to. I let some others
here at Family Friendly Gaming try out some races and they had similar
comments. Players must pay attention to what is going on at all times.
There are jumps and we must land right otherwise we can be facing the
wrong direction. Pieces of the monster trucks will fall off when damage
is taken in the twenty-five arenas.
The more I played Monster Truck Championship the more I unlocked. There
are different requirements for different things. We may need to get so
many points, or win certain events to move on. Monster Truck
Championship tells players what they need to do to unlock certain
things. Bad language, monster truck violence, and tobacco are the issues
families can have with Monster Truck Championship. I like hearing the
announcers before we start an event in Monster Truck Championship.
