Pixboy
SCORE: 71
Family Friendly Gaming has been a major
force in the video game industry since 2005. Our coverage has made and
broken a variety of companies. Family Friendly Gaming has been a massive
supporter of the physical copy movement. Family Friendly Gaming has been
a friend to a plethora of indie companies over the years. Pixboy is one
of those indie games that will excite some gamers, and make others
groan.
If you don’t like something, then don’t play it. Live and let live.
Pixboy looks like a Gameboy video game to me. There are only two colors
on the screen at the same time. Players can earn additional color
schemes as they find them in levels. In my research of Pixboy I found it
is described as Nokia phone colors. The original Nokia phone. That was
news to me. Which is why I research games on top of playing them.
Another industry standard Family Friendly Gaming has brought to gaming
media.
There are four worlds in Pixboy. Each world has ten levels. The last
level in each world is a challenging boss. We can jump on enemies, hit
them with a slingshot and more. I love how jumping on enemies gives us
more ammunition for the sling shot. That simple game play mechanic
touched me deep in my gamer’s soul. There are certain parts of certain
levels that require the player to glide around spikes that will
instantly take you out.
I like the music in Pixboy. The graphics are hand held retro to the max.
There are all kinds of hidden areas in Pixboy. We collect coins, and
popsicles in Pixboy. I found it challenging finding all of them because
of all of the hidden rooms in Pixboy. There are one hundred and fifty
hidden rooms in Pixboy. That is insane.
Expect a challenge from Pixboy pretty early on. I was shocked at home
complex some levels got in Pixboy early on. The level design in Pixboy
is fantastic. The more I played Pixboy the more I marveled at how the
levels are designed. Families will need to pay attention to the violent
content found within Pixboy on the Nintendo Switch. The graphics can
also create some eye strain if you are not used to this vein of game.
