Thunder Paw

It is really neat that Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Thunder Paw on the Nintendo Switch. Thunder was out in a field playing with his ball. He sees an explosion near his house. He runs back and finds a note that his parents have been kidnapped. So Thunder gets his gun and goes on a quest through twenty levels to save his parents. Those twenty levels are in five biomes.

The music is really nice in Thunder Paw. It jacked me up to rush through these levels and save this doggies parents. Then I learned something very fascinating about Thunder Paw. I must eliminate every single enemy in every single level of Thunder Paw. That meant I had to look around and find each of the enemies. Thunder Paw stops us from exiting a level until we eliminate every single enemy.

There is an interesting game play mechanic in Thunder Paw. The doggie we play has this gun. His gun gives us a kick back. Be careful standing on a ledge and shooting the gun. You will get knocked off and fall thanks to the kick back from the gun. The enemies take quite a few hits to take out as well. Some enemies will run at you, and others will shoot at you. I had to be on my feet at all times.

Thunder Paw has indie graphics on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation Vita, and Xbox One. Thunder Paw is a bit on the short side in my opinion. Each biome has a boss in it that would need to be beaten. Defeated enemies will drop gems. Those gems will upgrade your weapon and make you more powerful. Which makes taking the enemies down a bit easier and quicker.

I found Thunder Paw to be an enjoyable experience. The length could have been a bit longer in my opinion. The levels are short enough that Thunder Paw could have been a hand held video game. The kick back on the gun is an interesting game play mechanic that felt weird at first, but I got used to it after a time. I wish the gun had a longer range.
