Vetrix

How long has it been since we played a VR game on the PC? I don’t even know the answer to that question. Part of the problem is there are too few physical copy PC VR video games. Mainly we play the PS4 VR games because they get the physical copy versions of games. Vetrix intrigued me. This Gameboy looking Tetris game in virtual reality was worth the effort of unboxing the Oculus Rift system that mainly collects dust.

We have some Tetris looking blocks in Vetrix. We also have two rows to play in. So it would be Tetris if there were two layers to it. The blocks do not drop in Vetrix either. Instead we pick them up, rotate and place them how we want to. We can play Vetrix for score or time (the two main modes). It took me a few tries after the tutorial to completely comprehend the controls of Vetrix. Once I did I was off to the races. I loved rotating the area around and finding the best spot for a block.

The music in Vetrix is fantastic. I noticed some neat nods to other franchises while playing Vetrix. I will let you discover those moments for yourself. The 3D in Vetrix looks fantastic. Vetrix is not in your face. I did not get sick while playing Vetrix in VR. That is something too many virtual reality video games have a problem with. I am happy Vetrix is safe in terms of that aspect. A highlight shows where the block will go before we let go of the button.

There are online leaderboards in Vetrix if you want to see how you rank up against other players. If you happen to care about things like that. Personally those things do not matter to me. I play for the experiences and I love finding cool ones. Vetrix is one of those cool experiences. As we fill entire two layered lines in Vetrix they will go away. I suppose one could even get a Tetris in Vetrix. I never did so I am not sure if that is there.

I would love to see Vetrix make it to the PS4 VR system. This is the kind of a game Sony needs on their system. I would also like to see sequels to Vetrix in the future. It would be great to work in different structures and to have different blocks to work with. I could see that working personally. If you have a PC VR system that is compatible with Vetrix I recommend Family Friendly Gaming Universe checks this game out.
