I am very appreciative that Family
Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for WRC 9 on the Xbox
One. This Rally Racing video game continues to get better. It helps that
I continue to learn how to play this kind of a video game. WRC 9 has
quick resets on the track once you go flying off those corners. We start
in a tutorial where WRC 9 tests us and grades us. Don't worry since you
can still pick the difficulty setting and lower it when you get into
races, seasons, career, etc.
The modes in WRC 9 are Career, Rallye Monte-Carlo, Clubs, Drivercard,
News Feed, Online Multiplayer, Online Events, Season, Quick Play,
Training, Test Area, Challenges, E-Sports WRC, Split Screen,
Leaderboards, and the settings and credits page. WRC 9 is a 23.5 gigs in
terms of size. There are thankfully phsyical copies of WRC 9 available
on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. That way the millions
of families in the physical copy movement can purchase a copy of this
racing video game.
WRC 9 looks good and it sounds good. I love how portions of the tutorial
can be skipped. WRC 9 will let families flow right into this game or
skip parts to see all the options there are. The difficulty settings in
WRC 9 can go low enough that casual gamers should be able to play WRC 9.
The biggest thing to remember is be very careful with your speed. If you
go too fast and slam on those breaks you could spin the car around.
I had a lot of fun playing WRC 9 on the Xbox One. We race a variety of
tracks in a plethora of different environments. Be very careful on snow
and ice. It is great that two family members can play WRC 9 at the same
time. This is huge for families that did not like waiting around and
taking turns. The navigator's instructions are pretty easy to learn.
Maybe I learned them faster because I played previous games in this
franchise.
When it comes to Rally Racing video games I really like the WRC
franchise. WRC 9 is the crowning jewel of this franchise right now. If
you can learn how to use that hand brake around U-turns then you are
getting some skills in WRC 9. Multiple people here at FFG enjoyed
playing WRC 9. It was a pleasure to play and review WRC 9 on the Xbox
One. E-sports candidates can also use WRC 9 to break into that business.
