Basketbrawl

Basketbrawl reminds me of NBA JAM one year before NBA JAM was released. Basketbrawl is an interesting Atari Lynx video game. I am very thankful I had the money to purchase this hand held video game on the Evercade system. I was able to get this game in a compilation way with many other Atari Lynx video games way cheaper than I could go and buy them on the Atari Lynx video game system.

We play a violent basketball video game in Basketbrawl. We can pick up weapons, power ups and more in Basketbrawl. We can punch and kick when we do not have the ball in Basketbrawl. One of the things I noticed about this game is if you knock your opponent down you can go and score multiple baskets in a row. You can probably guess what a good strategy is in Basketbrawl to win. If not let me spell it out for you – knock them down, and score a lot of points.

We can play with multiple players in Basketbrawl. They have four skills in this game. The four skills in Basketbrawl are Power, Skill, Speed and Life. There are four digit codes the players used to continue where they last were in this hand held video game. After you win a game in Basketbrawl then you get a score and a new code. There is also some banter from the different opponents in Basketbrawl.

Basketbrawl looks way better than I was expecting for a hand held video game. There is violent content in this sports video game. I guess Basketbrawl is a sports video game even with the flagrant fouls that are never called. We do still need to score more points than our opponent. Even if we shank them with a knife. At times people from the sidelines walk onto the court and start attacking players.

I enjoyed the music and gameplay of Basketbrawl. I did find myself feeling a bit more aggressive after playing Basketbrawl on the Atari Lynx and Evercade systems. I wish there was a better way to play against another player in Basketbrawl. Maybe that will come in the future on the Evercade home console system. If you like violent sports video games then Basketbrawl could be for you.
