Beyond a Steel Sky

I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Beyond a Steel Sky on the Nintendo Switch. Beyond a Steel Sky can also be found on iOS, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There are physical copy versions of Beyond a Steel Sky available on the console editions of Beyond a Steel Sky. Players take on the role of Robert Foster in Beyond a Steel Sky. Robert is a roaming engineer in a dystopian future.

Beyond a Steel Sky is set in 3D and we can see our character walking around. As we get close to something we can interact with a cursor will appear over the object or character. Players can select that cursor for a choice of interactions. We can examine things, talk to other characters, use an item and more in Beyond a Steel Sky. We must solve the puzzles in the area. An example is feeding the birds so they will leave a corpse alone.

The issues families will have with Beyond a Steel Sky are violence, bad language, nudity, alcohol, and more. The story in Beyond a Steel Sky is told in comic book format. There is plenty of voice acting in Beyond a Steel Sky. The colors are a bit on the odd side in this reviewers opinion. The character moves around slowly and has a bit of a bad attitude. Thankfully we can run in Beyond a Steel Sky.

My biggest issue with Beyond a Steel Sky is getting stuck. We need to do specific things to solve these puzzles. If we do not do them then we cannot go anywhere else. This is aggravating to a player like me who likes to run around and explore things. Obviously Beyond a Steel Sky is not my kind of a video game. I understand there are those that are into it. Finding kidnapped children inside a video game is not important enough for me to spend weeks trying to solve some of these obnoxious puzzles.

Beyond a Steel Sky is a bit of a dark world in my opinion. Beyond a Steel Sky is written in such a way that what could go wrong will go wrong. Beyond a Steel Sky taught me to pay attention to what everyone was saying. There are important clues left in the mountain of dialogue the player must sit through. I wish Beyond a Steel Sky had a casual mode for those just interested in the story.
