Boulder Dash Deluxe
SCORE: 85
A digital download code for Boulder Dash
Deluxe was provided for this review. I was unable to find any
information on a physical copy version of Boulder Dash Deluxe on the
Nintendo Switch in the United States at the moment this review as
written. The twenty levels from the 1984 Boulder Dash video game are
included within Boulder Dash Deluxe. There are also 180 all new levels
with new features included within Boulder Dash Deluxe as well. Which
brings us to two hundred levels.
If you are familiar with Boulder Dash then you know what to do in
Boulder Dash Deluxe. If you are not familiar let me explain what family
members do while playing Boulder Dash Deluxe. We collect the gems in
Boulder Dash Deluxe. Once we have collected enough gems then the exit
door opens. We then must make it to the exit door before the timer
expires. Players must complete levels within a certain amount of time.
Boulder Dash Deluxe does not encourage players to take it slow.
Boulder Dash Deluxe has nice music and alright graphics. We collect a
plethora of loot after beating the levels. Getting three stars in a
level is what gamers should shoot for. Multiple levels after the current
one are unlocked in Boulder Dash Deluxe. That is nice if you are stuck
on a particular level, then you can just skip it move on. There is a
limit to this of course.
Boulder Dash Deluxe taught me to be careful around animals. You do not
want to touch the Shark, Snow Tiger, Octopus and more in Boulder Dash
Deluxe. Why not? It is level over if you do. If you have gold bars then
they can be spent to continue within a certain level. We can customize
our character in Boulder Dash Deluxe with different shirts, pants, hair,
shoes, and more. Boulder Dash Deluxe can be played in multiple different
languages.
Collecting the gems and getting to the door sounds easy right? The issue
most players will have are things like boulders that can and will fall
down if you remove the dirt spots below them. At times boulders will
block your way and you will not be able to progress. I learned to
quickly plan my manuevers in Boulder Dash Deluxe. Sometimes I would try
something and see how it worked out. I learned from that and made a
different choice the next time.
