Checkered Flag

I am very thankful I had the money to purchase the Evercade Lynx Cartridge 2 since it contained Checkered Flag. This hand held racing game has some things going for it and some things are going against it. First and foremost Checkered Flag looks pretty good for a retro hand held video game. The race cars, tracks and various objects make this feel like a racing game. Checkered Flag reminds me of older racing titles where we see the car and the track. In essence the car does not move but the track does.

The issues I had with Checkered Flag are the difficulty, lack of attire, enticement to lust, and mild violence. We can crash into a plethora of objects within Checkered Flag. Thankfully there are no explosions when we run into rocks, trees, signs and other objects in Checkered Flag. Instead this hand held video game just stops the car. Once you get stopped once you can forget about catching up to the computer.

There are eighteen tracks in Checkered Flag which is pretty good for a hand held video game from that era. I know some modern racing games that do not have that many different tracks. Checkered Flag has great graphics and wonderful sounds. I absolutely adore the car and track sounds within Checkered Flag. I am not so big on crashing into objects and losing the race.

The tracks in Checkered Flag have plenty of twists and turns. Some tracks in Checkered Flag are harder than others. Checkered Flag includes a decent amount of options for a retro hand held video game. I had fun racing around the tracks in Checkered Flag. Being able to win without racing perfect would have been nice. Players can pick how many cars they race against. Family members can also practice Checkered Flag if they so choose.

The Evercade is the real winner here because without it I would not be playing Checkered Flag from the Atari Lynx. I am very pleased I was able to play this game and record it. Hopefully you caught the Twitch Live stream I did of Checkered Flag. If you missed it then you can find a video of Checkered Flag in our video section. We will be uploading this video to our video sites Lord willing.
