Dreaming Sarah

I am very thankful Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital downloadable copy of Dreaming Sarah on the Nintendo Switch. This version of this indie video game can be found on the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X as well. Dreaming Sarah is a seventy-seven meg download on the Nintendo Switch. It will not eat up a lot of memory space if you are worried about that.

Dreaming Sarah is a 2D side scrolling video game where there are all kinds of screens to interact with. We can go left or right in this game. We find items that will help us. For example an umbrella allows us to glide from higher places across chasms to lower places. Why is that important? The girl we play in Dreaming Sarah cannot make super long jumps. So the umbrella is needed.

The puzzle elements in Dreaming Sarah are interesting. We must find the right items in the right order to be able to progress. This can lead to frustration though. I got aggravated having to go back many screens to try and find what I missed so I could progress. Certain loops are required to hit a switch and access a slightly different area. Players must remember all of these paths to go the right way next time.

Dreaming Sarah contains some violent content. We can die a plethora of ways in this dream world. There are some really odd characters to interact with in this indie looking video game. Elements of Dreaming Sarah remind me of the Flashback franchise, mainly going through so many screens to access certain areas. Parts of Dreaming Sarah can be creepy and dark just like Flashback too.

The music in Dreaming Sarah fits the dream theme of this video game. Interact with everything you can in Dreaming Sarah to avoid getting stuck. When you do get stuck, then backtrack and find different screens to interact with. Gamers into weird and quirky retro video games will be interested in Dreaming Sarah. There are aspects of Dreaming Sarah I enjoy and parts I am not as thrilled about. Can you help this girl escape her coma?
