I am very thankful Family Friendly Gaming
was given a digital downloadable copy of Football Cup 2021 on the
Nintendo Switch. Football Cup 2021 looks decent, sounds nice, and plays
okay. I am a bit shocked to find out that Football Cup 2021 is an app
that ported over to the Nintendo Switch. Do not think Football Cup 2021
will compete with Fifa or PES though. It does not need to because our
expectations are lower based on its indie roots.
The modes available in Football Cup 2021 are Career, Quick Match,
Achievements, Trophy Room, Team Management, and Settings. When we play a
game the customization options are Location, Weather, Length, and Game
Mode. Please note many of the game modes are locked until players unlock
them within the game. Within the Career Mode we get Basics, Daily
Challenge, Europa, Copa del sor, Champions Cup, Tournament, and Season.
Football Cup 2021 impressed me in a lot of ways. It took me a few
minutes to figure out the controls. I learned I could bait the goalie
out, swerve him, and easily score. Football Cup 2021 is under three
hundred megs in terms of download size. So it will not hammer your
memory usage. Yet Football Cup 2021 still looks decent for its memory
usage. Players move well with okay animations. It can look a bit off
when the players are sprinting.
There are no announcers in Football Cup 2021. The crowd noise is
appropriate for the situation. There is some mild crowd noise while
playing the game. The volume will go up when the player scores a goal.
The menu screen music in Football Cup 2021 is nice to listen to. I
enjoyed the music while playing Football Cup 2021 on the Nintendo
Switch. Football Cup 2021 has way more customization than I was
expecting.
Football Cup 2021 is a very pleasant surprise. I will admit I did not
expect a whole lot from Football Cup 2021. This game surpassed my
expectations. I hope this franchise continues because it has quite a bit
of promise. Maybe in a few years Football Cup 2021 can compete with PES
and FIFA. I mean on the consoles and not just the app stores. I had fun
playing Football Cup 2021.
