Gang Beasts

Hopefully you were one of the cool kids
that was able to check out our Twitch stream of Gang Beasts. Don’t worry
if you missed it because it will be processed into a video and uploaded
to our video sites. Gang Beasts is one of those games that I had an
immediate reaction to. Have you ever had that happen when playing a
video game? My immediate reaction to Gang Beasts is – I never want to
see this game again, hear of this game again, or play this game again. I
don’t want video sponsorships or advertisements for Gang Beasts.
My immediate reaction was one of disgust, disdain, and dismay. I do not
like video games with floppy physics. I do not like games filled with
bugs and glitches. I do not like games where the controls do not always
work. Gang Beasts checked all of those and more. I went into Gang Beasts
hoping it would be the next big thing. I played Gang Beasts hoping it
would produce more for us financially than we put into it. Gang Beasts
failed me on every single count, and more.
Gang Beasts is a multiplayer video game with floppy physics where we
play in Melee, Gangs, Football or Waves. Melee is an eight player mode
where players are trying to be first to rack up three wins. I actually
had two wins when I played Melee. I came in second and I had very little
idea what I was doing. I won thanks to hiding out and letting the other
players eliminate one another. Same strategy that helped me last really
long in battle royal games when I started playing them. I may not be
faster or better at the controls but I definitely am smarter.
The control setup choices in Gang Beasts make little to no sense to me.
Why are punches RB and LB instead of RT and LT? I never could figure out
how to raise arms and grab. I saw other players flip around while being
held over another players head. I had no clue how they did it. I pressed
every button and could not get loose when they held me over their heads
to throw me off the stages. I had very little fun playing Gang Beasts.
Gangs in Gang Beasts is a 4 v 4 team mode. Football is where players
compete in a soccer like game. Waves is where the players work together
against waves of enemies. Football is extremely glitch. I got the one
where you can’t even move. So I had to wait for the game to realize
there was a problem and dump us. The presentation in Gang Beasts is
minimalistic. Gang Beasts gave me a headache.
