Gutwhale

Gutwhale is a digital downloadable video game that is on the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. I played Gutwhale on the Nintendo Switch. There are three unique areas in Gutwhale. We must fight enemies while working our way through the digestive system of a giant beast. We also only have one bullet in Gutwhale at first. We must go get that bullet after shooting an enemy.

Gutwhale is for hardcore gamers only. Casual gamers will have no interest in Gutwhale whatsoever. Why does the Working Man Gamer say that? Gutwhale is challenging right out of the gate. There are different hats that do different things for the player. The patterns of the enemies stay the same so memorization of where they are and what they do is paramount to success in Gutwhale.

Players can take one hit in Gutwhale as well as starting with the one bullet. Avoiding the enemies is required to win in Gutwhale. I had issues with this especially because of the dark indie graphics. There were times that I died because I did not notice something was an enemy or there was a door nearby. Players can only die so many times before they must completely restart the game. I told you Gutwhale is for hardcore gamers.

The music in Gutwhale is pleasing to my ears. I actually expected to hear whale songs while I was playing Gutwhale. The issues families can have with Gutwhale is blood and violence. Gutwhale is one of those games that could make quite a few gamers rage quit. I honestly did not have the energy to rage quit. I realized early on that Gutwhale is beyond my abilities at this time.

Remember I told you memorization was key to success? I discovered at one point while playing Gutwhale that the levels randomly generate. That meant memorizing the patterns was a complete waste of time. I had to learn to react quickly to levels in Gutwhale. If you are a real glutton for punishment then you can try and endless mode in Gutwhale. Hardcore indie gamers will enjoy Gutwhale.
