I Can Only Imagine

I am very thankful our family had enough money to purchase I Can Only Imagine on DVD. I Can Only Imagine was actually in the five dollar DVD bin at Walmart. I was very curious to see I Can Only Imagine. I remember the song quite fondly. It is interesting to see the behind the scenes of the band and how the song was created. There are quite a few interesting things in I Can Only Imagine.

The story of I Can Only Imagine really starts with the father played by Dennis Quaid. His dreams are dashed to pieces when he is no longer able to play football. He spirals into anger and despair over that dream not coming true. He tells his son over and over again he is not good enough. His son Bart Millard is beaten and so is his mother. The mother leaves and that does not help Bart's life any.

There is some mild violent content, and a bit of blood in I Can Only Imagine. The anger from the father is one of the most troubling aspects of this movie. Mercy Me is told they are not good enough over and over again. They do not give up on their dream of being a band. They continue on until they eventually get that big break. They really showed those music executives what little they actually knew.

I Can Only Imagine is all about forgiveness and letting go of anger. I Can Only Imagine also shows people like Amy Grant in a really good light. Trace Adkins does a wonderful job as the manager in I Can Only Imagine. I love how he is honest with the band. I Can Only Imagine shows the redeeming power of Jesus Christ and how it changes the perspective, personality and reality for those that get saved.

The bonus content within I Can Only Imagine is fantastic. There are seven deleted scenes, Mercy Me The Early Days, Imagine Forgiveness with Bart Millard, Casting I Can Only Imagine, The Power of Song, Creating Imagine, The Music of Imagine, Dennis Quaid On My Way to Heaven, and Audio Commentary. I really enjoyed I Can Only Imagine on DVD. I will continue to find good movies like this one to watch and review.
