Infestor
SCORE: 68
Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital
downloadable code for Infestor on the Nintendo Switch. This downloadable
only video game is done in the retro sytle. The developer Woblyware may
sound familiar to Family Friendly Gaming Universe. We have reviewed
multiple games of theirs thanks to Ratalaika Games sending us codes.
Infestor clocks in at twenty-six megs. Infestor is not a large video
game.
What do we do in Infestor? We traverse the levels to get to a pipe. I
felt like a chicken and wondering why I was crossing the road at times.
Since Infestor is an indie video game there is one clever technique
used. Can you guess what the clever technique in Infestor is? Players
play a small green alien slime character. This small green alien slime
character in Infestor can possess humans.
Different humans in Infestor do different things. Some can jump high,
others can move boxes, and others can shoot a gun. These different
abilities are needed in Infestor to get to the pipe. We can also explode
the human and jump out of their bodies. It felt really wrong to me to
possess these people and then murder them. I felt horrible about that
morally and ethically.
The music in Infestor is really nice. I enjoyed the retro music while
playing Infestor. The graphics are indie in the seventy levels. Many of
the levels are pretty short in Infestor and can be solved very quickly.
I did find myself confused in a few levels in Infestor. Then I learned
to jump, and explode out of the body at the apex of the jump. Then I
could reach those platforms.
The issues families will have with Infestor are blood, violence, death,
destruction, possession, and more. I did not have to think very hard in
Infestor to get to the pipe. A few times I forgot which pipe I came out
of and tried to get back into the entry pipe. Please note I was never
able to do so. I also learned I had to destroy the human bodies to get
into the pipes in Infestor.
