Pokemon Channel
SCORE: 65
Sometimes I wonder if certain products are
actually even video games. It may come on a video game system. It may
play on a video game system. Is it actually a video game. Pokemon
Channel is a fantastic example of this on the Gamecube. We invite
Pokemon into our home to watch our television set. They can watch
cartoons, exercise, quiz show, shopping channel and more. There is
coloring and Gameboy mini games that can be played. Is this actually a
video game?
I will admit I am not convinced one way or another on Pokemon Channel.
This Gamecube product is definitely a Pokemon experience. Graphically
Pokemon Channel ranges from decent from that era to horrible. The
Gameboy mini games are a great example of how bad Pokemon Channel can
look and sound. The rest of the graphics are on par with Pokemon sounds
from that era. It takes forever to earn the points to purchase items
from the shopping channel. Most of those items are a digital goods waste
of time anyway.
Did you catch any of the Twitch live streams I did of Pokemon Channel?
If you missed them then you can click here to see the videos. I found
myself bored while playing Pokemon Channel. I also had to cut out any of
the anime because of copyright issues. How messed up is that?
The best part of Pokemon Channel for me is watching the Pokemon
exercise. Sure they are a bit on the short side but fun when the Pokemon
cannot do certain things. Some of the quiz things are easy and some are
not. I do not recall all of the names or sounds of Pokemon. So that
ultimately hurt me in terms of getting the right answers. The Pokemon
constantly saying their names gets annoying in Pokemon Channel.
