Scoob!

I am very thankful I had enough money to purchase Scoob! on DVD. This animated movie is a lot different than I was expecting. We find out about how Scooby-Doo and Shaggy met. We also find out how the entire gang got together and solved their first ghost mystery. The ultimate lesson in Scoob! is that friendship can save the day. SPOILER ALERT! Friendship does save the day in Scoob!.

The voices in Scoob! are all different from the shows and movies I remember watching as a kid. Some of them are close and others just did not sound like they were even in the ballpark if you know what I mean. Thankfully that did not deter my enjoyment of this ninety-four minute animated film. There is plenty of humor in Scoob!, especially once we meet the Blue Falcon. His progression as a hero is fantastic in this movie.

The issues families can have with Scoob! are violence, stealing, lying, some off the cuff humor, and some language that you might find offensive. Simon Cowell makes an appearance in Scoob!. Thankfully his role is small and he is proven completely wrong. His interaction does lead to damages to Mystery Inc though. In the end it looks like those damages did not last very long.

We get other well known characters from Hanna-Barbera in Scoob!. Dick Dasterdly and Muttley are a couple of the best examples in Scoob!. I did some research to help myself remember that Scooby-Doo was once a well known Hanna-Barbera franchise. It is neat to see those other characters being brought back into entertainment. There are so many of them that could be used in future entertainment.

The storyline in Scoob! revolves around Dick Dasterdly’s attempts to get three skulls to unlock gates to the underworld. A hero team, and the Mystery Inc team must both try to help Scooby-Doo since he is the key to opening the door. Friendships are tested deeply in Scoob!. Promises are broken and restored in Scoob!. A sacrifice is made and then ultimately returned. There are some deep friendship issues explored in Scoob!.
