Shadow & Bone Season One
SCORE: 53
I decided to check out Shadow & Bone
Season One on Netflix because it looked interesting and I am into
fantasy television shows just like I am into super hero television shows
and movies. Shadow & Bone Season One is only eight episodes long with
each episode being under one hour. Some episodes are in the forty minute
range. Alina Starkov and Malyen Oretsev are two of the main characters.
We learn about Grisha in Shadow & Bone Season One as well.
Alina has a hidden power in Shadow & Bone Season One. She can create
sunlight. She is a Grisha who never knew she had power. The Grisha in
Shadow & Bone Season One are people with powers. These powers can be to
control hearts inside someone's body (like making it beat faster,
slower, stop. etc.), wind, fire, water, shadows, and more. General
Kirigan is actually the Black Heretic that created the Fold in Shadow &
Bone Season One.
What is this Fold I speak of? The Fold in Shadow & Bone Season One is a
giant black wall where nasty creatures live. Crossing it can be
extremely treacherous. The Black Heretic created this Fold to try and
create an army for himself as he attempts to save the Grisha from being
persecuted. Nations are at war and there are mystical creatures that can
be killed to amplify the power the Grisha that kills it. Or so the
legends say.
The issues families can have with Shadow & Bone Season One are blood,
violence, death, bad language, sexual deviancy, sex outside of marriage,
lies, deceit, nudity, and more. There is a group of four that are sent
to kidnap Alina Starkov. Their motives are greed and they are criminals.
There are side deals that happen in Shadow & Bone Season One as well.
Slavers are also referenced in Shadow & Bone Season One.
Shadow & Bone Season One is on the short side. We see a bit of this
fantasy world, and I had to pay attention to understand who all the
different groups were. The world in Shadow & Bone Season One is pretty
dark and depressing. There are people who are very wealthy and well
taken care of, and those that are barely alive. The religious system
surrounding the Grisha in Shadow & Bone Season One is really odd and
strange.
