Star Trek Discovery Season One
SCORE: 56
I must admit I am very disappointed with
Star Trek Discovery Season One. This television show takes us into the
U.S.S. Discovery ten years before the original Star Trek television
show. The main character of Star Trek Discovery Season One is Michael
Burnham the adopted sister of Spock. This is the first time we ever
heard about a sister of Spock. We know he has a brother. To make matters
even more confusing we have a female character with a male characters
name. Star Trek Discovery Season One could be causing gender confusion.
The issues families will have with Star Trek Discovery Season One are
violence, blood, nudity, bad language, promotes sexual deviancy,
promotes sex outside of marriage, lack of attire, enticement to lust,
attacks on God and more. Star Trek Discovery Season One gives us the
evil parallel universe, and a ship using a spore drive. The spore drive
in the U.S.S. Discovery allows it to teleport to any place in the
universe connected to spores. Why wasn’t this technology used in all
other Star Trek shows?
The Klingons look wrong in Star Trek Discovery Season One in so many
ways. They look more like fish people than the Klingons we knew and
loved. Star Trek Discovery Season One goes strong on how they hate the
death penalty. Many of the leaders in Star Trek Discovery Season One are
very weak. Captain Lorca is one of the few examples. SPOILER ALERT!
Captain Lorca is actually from the evil parallel universe and he dies.
The special effects in Star Trek Discovery Season One are pretty good.
The storyline is woven together nicely. We get plenty of space battles
with all kinds of action. The JJ Abrams kind of camera work is present
in Star Trek Discovery Season One. Star Fleet is ready to throw away its
morals to save itself at one point. They eventually relent after a
different way is found. If they had destroyed Kronos then the entire
history of Star Trek would have been in jeopardy.
First Officer Saru is one of the few surviving characters in Star Trek
Discovery Season One that is actually interesting to learn about. I
found no characters in Star Trek Discovery Season One to identify with.
The reason for the Klingons going to war was one of the most logical
parts in all of Star Trek Discovery Season One. All of the ways to
access the evil parallel universe are starting to make it a super
highway.
