Terminator Dark Fate
SCORE: 34
Terminator Dark Fate is definitely very
dark. Early on John Connor is murdered by a Terminator. Sarah Connor
goes on a quest to kill every single Terminator she can. She gets help
from an unlikely source. This source gives her coordinates of when and
where Terminators will appear from the timeline. I am a bit baffled as
to why they would keep coming after John Connor had been terminated as a
young man. What is the point?
Terminator Dark Fate feels like a passing of the torch. Skynet is gone
and replaced with Legion. Dani Ramos is the new leader that inspired
humanity to stand up and fight against new machines. The new Terminators
are called REV-9. They have a liquid body that can separate from the
metal skeleton. The two can then attack separately making them much more
lethal than the T-800’s ever were. We also get Grace who is an enhanced
human.
The issues families can have with Terminator Dark Fate are violence,
blood, death, nudity, enticement to lust, bad language, and more.
Terminator Dark Fate shows a darker and more dim view of the future than
ever before. It is interesting that all these years later we still have
not reached the gloom and doom the franchise has constantly told us
would happen. Sure we have Chinese spies infiltration of Democrats, and
lack of trust in the election process. We don’t have massive machines
murdering all of us.
If the Terminator franchise continues I expect the new younger actors
and actresses to take up the mantle. The T-800 future no longer exists.
That timeline has been in essence eradicated. This new darker future now
exists and is where I assume the franchise will go in the future.
SPOILER ALERT! At the very end of Terminator Dark Fate Sarah and Dani go
off to train Dani to become the hero she needs to be.
SPOILER ALERT! A Terminator growing a conscious does not make much sense
to me. That is not part of his programming. This is not really explained
very well in Terminator Dark Fate. It is also strange he was able to
easily kill John Connor with no resistance. Why didn’t the humans send
someone to save him that time? They did all of the other times.
Terminator Dark Fate has some obvious plot convenience moments.
