Tetragon
SCORE: 79
Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital
download code for Tetragon on the Nintendo Switch. Tetragon can also be
found on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. I was unable to find any information
on a physical copy version of Tetragon in the United States at the time
the work was done on this review. Family Friendly Gaming was not
provided any money to play and review this game. The costs of playing
Tetragon and reviewing it, as well as housing a review greatly exceed
the value of the product provided.
Tetragon is a puzzle game where players use gravity and rotation to
safely move their character to the book page where they will teleport
into a new puzzle. At times it felt so futile to me. I beat a puzzle and
another one awaits me. Thankfully there are only forty different levels
in Tetragon spread across three magical worlds. Make sure you are paying
attention to the tutorials that come up in Tetragon. I missed one
because I was spamming the button to get back into the game and missed
something really important. Thankfully I figured it out with trial and
error.
Tetragon has a set of rules that comes along with it. We can only rotate
at certain points and specific directions. I tried to go the other
direction a few times and Tetragon would not let me. I also learn the
complex control scheme in Tetragon that allowed me to complete a level.
There are some nifty options that come up for players like being able to
raise blocks. Please note these blocks can only be raised so far.
Tetragon looks okay and it sounds okay. Tetragon gives us a good reason
to play it. The main character Lucios is on a quest to save his son
Jerry. Thankfully there are no tomcats in our way in Tetragon. There are
plenty of other obstacles in Tetragon including bosses. The boss fights
in Tetragon are cleverly done. In some ways Tetragon reminds me of The
Room. Anyone in Family Friendly Gaming Universe remember that game?
If you get stuck in Tetragon then try different buttons at different
locations. I learned that my main man in Tetragon could not handle
dropping too far. He would reset if I made him learn what a cruel
mistress gravity actually is. I also felt bad that the poor father would
not save his son if I do not help him save the day. If you like
rotating, stone moving, gravity puzzlers then Tetragon might be up your
alley.
