The Rising of the Shield Hero Season One Part One
SCORE: 71
One of the reasons I purchased The Rising
of the Shield Hero Season One Part One on Blu-ray and DVD is because I
saw it before and decided I wanted a physical copy of this television
show. I can't recall if Peter showed it to us on Funimation, Crunchyroll
or some other anime streaming service. Wherever it was does not really
matter. The Rising of the Shield Hero Season One Part One impressed me
by tackling some very important issues.
I will warn you that The Rising of the Shield Hero Season One Part One
contains some content that some people would consider extremely
controversial. In the first episode the Shield Hero is falsely accused
of rape and no one believes him. I am still not completely clear why the
princess did what she did. She should have access to all the money she
needed so why steal his? Just to get in the good graces of the Spear
Hero? I suppose.
The second aspect of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season One Part One
that could be considered controversial is this fantasy world has slaves
and demi-humans. In certain areas part human and part animal creatures
(demi-humans) are considered a lower form of life. There are some very
important plot elements attached to the slaves and how the Shield Hero
treats them.
Four humans from different worlds are sucked into this fantasy world
like a role playing video game in The Rising of the Shield Hero Season
One Part One. They must fight waves of monsters and keep the citizens
safe. The Shield Hero is great at protecting towns and keeping the
people safe. The other heroes are not so good at that, and this is shown
in The Rising of the Shield Hero Season One Part One.
The issues families can have with The Rising of the Shield Hero Season
One Part One are violence, blood, lack of attire, enticement to lust,
false accusation of rape, magic, slaves, bad language, and more. The
Shield Hero gets a very cynical viewpoint in The Rising of the Shield
Hero Season One Part One. He is mistreated and cheated over and over
again in The Rising of the Shield Hero Season One Part One. He does rise
above those constraints even if if takes the rage shield.
My biggest issue with The Rising of the Shield Hero Season One Part One
is how short it is. I have no idea why anime is so expensive and we get
so little in terms of episodes. Why is one season split in two? I really
wish the industry would correct this problem and make shows like this
one more financially viable for families. The Rising of the Shield Hero
Season One Part One helps us explore what is means to be a hero.
