I am very thankful I had the money to purchase The World is not Enough on DVD. I am continuing my exploration of the Pierce Brosnan 007 Bond films. I am beginning to notice a pattern in these movies. There is always some twist that is supposed to be shocking. The problem is those twists are only shocking the very first time. On top of that the twists can be predicted very easily. I had not seen this movie in a very long time and was able to spot the twists very easily.

I am not clear why all these women fall head over heels for James Bond. Take Dr Christmas Jones for example. She shuts him down when she thinks he is a nuclear scientist. But when she finds out he lies to her, is a British spy, and has a short adventure then she is all interested in him. I fail to see the logic there personally. I checked with my wife and she did not have a good reason for the behavior shift of that character either.

The issues families can have with The World is not Enough are lack of attire, enticement to lust, violence, sex outside of marriage, blood, lies, death, and more. The menu screen has nudity on it. There are plenty of explosions in The World is not Enough. There are multiple sexual comments made throughout The World is not Enough. James Bond is injured in The World is not Enough which is used as a plot point multiple times.

The core of The World is not Enough is all about an oil pipeline being run. It will compete with three other oil pipelines. SPOILER ALERT! The supposed victim in The World is not Enough is actually the main evil person who is trying to get rid of her competition. Her pipeline would be the only one that reached that region. Meaning she would be extremely wealthy in a few years. Another greedy business person is the real threat in The World is not Enough.

There are some funny lines in The World is not Enough. James Bond gets manipulated quite easily in The World is not Enough. He does suspect it and recommends that M not be where she was at one point in the movie. Bond was right of course. It takes one hundred and twenty-eight minutes to watch The World is not Enough from start to finish. There are some good action scenes and cool gadgets within The World is not Enough.
