Virtuous Western

Virtuous Western threw me off the horse for a minute there. I knew Virtuous Western was a western based video game. I knew Virtuous Western had shooting in it. What I did not realize is Virtuous Western is a puzzle game. There are bad guys who stole our horse in Virtuous Western. We must gun them down in each of the levels we find them in. We can only collect three bullets at once in Virtuous Western. Sounds really easy right?

The thirty levels in Virtuous Western start easy enough but get more complicated as the player progresses. There are no hints in Virtuous Western either. You figure it out in Virtuous Western or you don't. I recokon that is how it was back in the Wild West as well. Plenty of people died back in them there days without hospitals, motor vehicles, and a lot of medicines we take for granted.

The issues families can have with Virtuous Western are violence, bad language, and more. I honestly expected Virtuous Western to be much more violent considering the Wild West and shooting. Shooting is not the only way to dispose of the bad guys either. We can use objects like boxes in Virtuous Western to take out the enemies. Shoot the rope holding the box and it drops on the enemy character. There is no blood or gore in Virtuous Western. The enemies just vanish.

The music in Virtuous Western is okay. The graphics have a nice indie feel to them. Players can also jump over bullets shot at them. You must time is just so but it does work. I spent most of my time with Virtuous Western trying to figure out the one path to victory. The bad guys can shoot through wooden boxes and take a few seconds to reload after shooting all three of their bullets.

Virtuous Western is a short little indie game that has a very unique feel to it. The whole puzzle concept in Virtuous Western has been done by plenty of games. I don't recall many Wild West puzzle video games. I may have forgotten since I have played so many thousands of video games over the years. Virtuous Western stands out in the fashion and I appreciate that.
