Winds & Leaves

I am very thankful Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Winds & Leaves on the PS4 VR. Since we do not have an adapter for the Playstation 5 I had to bring the PS4 back downstairs to play Winds & Leaves. Hopefully you were able to watch the Twitch live stream where I played Winds & Leaves on the PS4 VR. If not it will be uploaded to YouTube and our website at some future date. I do have some bad news concerning Winds & Leaves.

I was not able to play Winds & Leaves for very long because it made me sick. I was unable to handle the motion in this game. It made my head feel really funny and I needed a carbonated drink to stop myself from losing my dinner. To be completely transparent I have only been playing pinball VR games lately so my tolerance for VR may be on the low side. I still feel the motion will bother some people in this downloadble video game just over one gig.

I was unable to find any information on a physical copy of Winds & Leaves. Which is a bummer. Like all VR games you can expect some strange things to happen. I had trouble reaching certain objects like the ground when I attempted to plant. I also had problems reaching objects to grab or place them. This is nothing new in VR video games though. I have had all kinds of issues with all kinds of VR video games based on the camera and floor. I actually have come to expect it.

Winds & Leaves gives us a generally barren world and encourages us to plant trees and bring the environment back. I know there are millions out there freaking out right now. I know exactly what you are thinking - "not another radical far left propaganda preaching tool from people who believe the fake news on the environment and our planet." I feel you and I completely relate. Bear with me for a minute on this. I did not find Winds & Leaves to be too preachy about the environment. It is more like a Harvest Moon video game in VR except we plant trees and not veggies.

Setting up the PS4 VR is such a monumental pain. I forgot what an effort it is to do that. I hope the PS5 VR has an easier setup and less cables. I felt like a Borg drone setting up to play Winds & Leaves. I also wish the game was a bit faster telling me to get and turn on the wand controllers. Why couldn't we just use a controller? It has two joysticks on it. That is probably more of a personal preference.

The music in Winds & Leaves can change with the environment. I found it to be a bit creepy at times. The graphics in Winds & Leaves are a very artistic style. I found two reactions to the graphics in Winds & Leaves. Those two reactions were cool, and gross. You may want to check pictures and videos of Winds & Leaves to see if it fits your personal preference or not. Winds & Leaves is a very interesting idea that hurt my brain.
