Batman Beyond Neo Year #4
SCORE: 72
The dividends are starting to pay out in Batman Beyond Neo Year #4.
The curtain is slowly starting to reveal some things. Please be aware
there will be spoilers in this review. Batman Beyond Neo Year #4 picks
up where the last issue left us. Batman is in a trap set by The Sword.
Terry McGinnis fights through this trap and keeps talking about how he
stays standing. He uses the villains own sword to open a way out of the
trap. He does suffer some damage but shows exactly how smart he actually
is as Batman.
Batman Beyond Neo Year #4 shows us that anyone can be made into The
Sword. It is holograms that take over a person and make them attack
Batman. Thus far only one person at a time can be The Sword. I do not
know if that will change in future issues or not. Terry theorizes there
is a rogue AI that is behind the attacks from The Sword. He defeats one
of them and finds out it was just an old man with no combat training.
How was he taken over? How did he get all of that training? Who is
really behind all this?
The issues families can have with Batman Beyond Neo Year #4 are
violence, blood, and more. The AI in Batman Beyond Neo Year #4 talks
about keeping the line flat. One baby is born so one old man must die.
This is a very scary concept indeed. It is not the first time I have
heard someone put forth that idea. Things look bleak for Terry as the
Batman suit with all its high tech gear is breaking down. It is barely
active at the end of Batman Beyond Neo Year #4. Terry also goes to Beam
Boonma for assistance.
The rogue AI (I really want a better name but that has not been revealed
yet) turns Beam Boonma into The Sword. Terry must then take her down and
find a place to lay low. The last page of content within Batman Beyond
Neo Year #4 is taking us to a place we know well. At least what is left
of Wayne Manor. Terry claims the rogue AI killed Bruce Wayne. I hope
more on this is shown in future issues. There are ads throughout this
comic book that contains twenty-two pages of content. The Dark Crisis
seems to be an important event going on right now.
Some layers of the onion have finally been exposed in Batman Beyond Neo
Year #4. It is obviously not the city that is after Batman. There is
some real intelligence coming after him. The artwork continues to look
nice in Batman Beyond Neo Year #4. There is plenty of text to read and
it has a really good flow in Batman Beyond Neo Year #4. The action keeps
things going at a real good pace. I plan on continuing to read this
comic book for a bit longer. Batman Beyond Neo Year #4 has helped me
make that determination.
