Batman Beyond Neo Year #5
SCORE: 74
Things take a turn for the better in Batman Beyond Neo Year #5.
Please note there will be spoilers in this review. I have so much to
talk about after reading Batman Beyond Neo Year #5. We find out there
are nano-pistons in and on people. Terry has them in his blood. That
means whomever is behind turning normal people into The Sword could do
it to Batman as well. Terry goes back to what is left of the Batcave.
Gestalt is there are well. Terry enlists Gestalt to save Beam Boonma.
Thankfully they are able to bring her back.
The issues families can have with Batman Beyond Neo Year #5 is mild
language. Terry grows a beard and is laying low while Gestalt is working
on a cure. Even then the cure is not guaranteed. There is discussion on
how the people are being infected with these nano-pistons. That is some
pretty impressive technology if you think about it. Enough nano-pistons
to generate a holographic cover over a person and take complete control
of their body. At the same time that kind of technology is absolutely
terrifying.
Terry reveals his secret identity to Beam Boonma in Batman Beyond Neo
Year #5. She takes it pretty well too. She is thankful he saved her life
and brought her out of that coma. It is nice to see Terry making some
friends in Batman Beyond Neo Year #5. He has a lot of work to do and I
am not clear how he will do it going forward. The ads are throughout and
at the end of Batman Beyond Neo Year #5. There are twenty-two pages of
content for this comic book costs only $3.99. I know other comic books
for the same price with a few less pages.
There is no real action to speak of within Batman Beyond Neo Year #5.
There is plenty of conversations and some flashbacks. It is neat to see
Bruce Wayne alive in the flashbacks within Batman Beyond Neo Year #5.
The artwork takes a darker tone within Batman Beyond Neo Year #5. There
are some neat offsets like the text from Gestalt. I do not mind the
darker tones when there are some very bright ones to offset it. Batman
Beyond Neo Year #5 does that quite nicely.
There is a bit of humor within Batman Beyond Neo Year #5. Beam Boonma
wanted some cheap wine. Terry gives her a Wayne bottle that is not very
cheap. They have a conversation about Bruce Wayne not understanding the
definition of something like cheap. Terry uses what he has available to
him. Going into Gotham and to a store would have been a really bad idea.
How will Terry find who is behind this? I am very interested in finding
out. Batman Beyond Neo Year #5 is mainly a recover and prep issue.
