Biomotor Unitron
SCORE: 72
Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital
download code for Biomotor Unitron on the Nintendo Switch. Biomotor
Unitron was the first role playing video game on the SNK Neo Geo Pocket.
Biomotor Unitron emulates the game quite well. Biomotor Unitron was
released in 1999 so its age does show. In fact Biomotor Unitron reminds
me of old school role playing video games where lots of grinding is
required.
We start in Biomotor Unitron with picking a male or female character. We
pick one of the two only existing genders and the other one is our
assistant. We then get to talk to everyone in the town. We find out
about the Unitrons which are robots that battle one another. Our human
helps direct the robot in Biomotor Unitron. The humans will both level
up as they are used. Robot parts are purchased or made to make the
UNITRON stronger.
The creation of better parts is a bit of a gamble within Biomotor
Unitron. This can become a pain if the creation fails because we lose
those parts which can be rare in some cases. We can go to whatever
dungeon we want to in Biomotor Unitron right from the start. There are
multiple floors in the dungeons as well. Expect to find empty treasure
chests within Biomotor Unitron. Why? I have no idea. There are two
gauges the player has in Biomotor Unitron. We have HP and EP. EP will
generate back after each battle. HP that is lost only restores when we
go back to the town. Thankfully we can leave at any point within the
dungeon.
There are different elemental types within Biomotor Unitron. Fire is
good against wood for example. This works great in the dungeons since
each dungeon is a certain type. The arena battles are a bit different. I
had issues figuring out what types the other bots were. As I upgraded
parts the battle image of my UNITRON changed. The battle rate in
Biomotor Unitron is really high.
The issues families can have with Biomotor Unitron are violence, lack of
attire, enticement to lust, alcohol and more. Biomotor Unitron is one of
those games I would love to stream for hours. Sadly I do not have the
opening to do so. Biomotor Unitron is one of those historical games that
families can be interested in. I would love for games like Biomotor
Unitron to be included on cartridge compilations for the Evercade
system.
