Cars on the Road Season One

As we are winding down our $1.99 month of Disney+ I thought I would check out Cars on the Road Season One. The episodes are ten to twelve minutes a piece so it is really fast to get through the entire season. The bad news is Cars on the Road Season One is over way too fast. In fact there are so many areas Cars on the Road Season One could have been fleshed out. Plus I am a bit disappointed so many previous ideas were reused within Cars on the Road Season One. There will be spoilers in this review.

The animations look good in Cars on the Road Season One. The voice acting is also spectacular. The storyline revolves around Mater and Lightning going on a road trip to attend the wedding of Mater's sister. You are probably like me and did not know Mater had a sister. There are plenty of laughs and different characters to meet in Cars on the Road Season One. We start in Radiator Springs and then learn about the mansion that Mater is from.

I am a bit bummed by the really short episodes in Cars on the Road Season One. So much of Cars on the Road Season One feels rushed. There are so many more things that could have been done and explained within Cars on the Road Season One. This was a real good opportunity for Pixar to show off the Cars Universe. On top of that why were there episodes copying Mad Max and The Shining? Those are Restricted movies. Why pick those two?

The ghosts in Cars on the Road Season One could scare some children. That entire episode could scare some children. Look our kids were scared by Bruce in Finding Nemo so I have some inkling of things that can freak out the younger members of the family. Mater has an out of body experience in Salt Fever. We find a monster truck in The Legend. Why is it Big Foot in Cars on the Road Season One? Shouldn't it be Big Wheel or Big Tires? This is the Cars Universe after all.

We find out that clowns make Lightning uncomfortable in Show Time. The Dino Park episode in Cars on the Road Season One is pretty neat. I loved seeing the dinosaur vehicles. Trucks is mainly a short musical. B-Movie exposes how fickle and flighty Hollyweird people are. It was totally ridiculous how competitive Mater and his sister are in Cars on the Road Season One. At the end of the season Lightning and Mater decide to drive back and have another adventure. I guess that will be season two. Cars on the Road Season One is much cleaner than a lot of stuff we have seen on Disney+.
