Cat Cafe Manager
SCORE: 66
Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital
download code for Cat Cafe Manager on the Nintendo Switch. Cat Cafe
Manager can also be found on the Personal Computer (PC) through the
Steam portal and the Epic Games Store. I was unable to find any
information on a physical copy version of Cat Cafe Manager at the time
this review was written. Hopefully that will change in the future.
The first thing I noticed about Cat Cafe Manager is the extremely long
loading screen to get into the game. I could almost take a cat nap while
waiting for the loading to complete in Cat Cafe Manager. Then it went to
a black screen and made me think the game had crashed. After hitting
every single button the Nintendo Switch the game finally came up. I was
sweating it there for a minute.
The whole point of Cat Cafe Manager is to befriend stray cats and build
your cat cafe. Be careful with your resources in Cat Cafe Manager
because you can easily use them all of up and have to wait for the next
day to receive some more. I had to restart the game after using up all
the walls and I did not find a way to get more wood resources. Plus the
game would not let me place anything because it was not inside.
There are some odd characters within Cat Cafe Manager. There is a witch
and a black cat that talks to us. There is even a shrine within Cat Cafe
Manager. Are we in Salem? Are some trials coming up soon? I can see the
religious content within Cat Cafe Manager bothering a great many
families. It was really weird and did not really fit this game for me.
Cat Cafe Manager has indie graphics and some nice music. There is sadly
some bad language within Cat Cafe Manager. Why was that needed? Here is
another aspect that did not really fit the theme or the flow of Cat Cafe
Manager in my opinion. We catch cats with bait that we purchase. The
bait is put into a cat bowl. We must try and get the stray cats to trust
us.
Cat Cafe Manager is an interesting take on the simulation genre. Cat
Cafe Manager totally and completely caters to cats and cat people. Crazy
cat ladies might really get into Cat Cafe Manager on the PC and Nintendo
Switch. I will warn you that the beginning is not very intuitive. I had
to use quite a bit of trial and error to figure things out. It lead to a
lot of frustration early on.
