Cricket 22

Peter and I learned a lot when we did that video of Cricket 22 on the Xbox Series X. Cricket 22 can also be found on the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox One. There is a tutorial within Cricket 22 that can help families learn how to play this game. We picked up some things while we played Cricket 22. First and foremost the bowler (the guy that throws the ball) must try and line it up with the wickets. The batter is defending the wicket. There are two batters and two wickets. After the ball is hit or the ball goes by the batter those two can run back and forth exchanging positions. If one of the players on the bowling team gets the ball and hits a wicket then the runners are out if they are in the middle.

A half inning lasts as long as all of the batters on one team. So the bowling team must get all of the opposing team out before they can get to bowl themselves. That means innings within Cricket 22 are extremely long. Cricket 22 will save your game so you can come back to it later. We simulated much of the game after the first inning when we recorded a video of Cricket 22. One game is played across multiple days as well. If you are into cricket then you probably know all of this. Cricket 19 was the last cricket video game we played. We increased our understanding of the sport in Cricket 22.

Graphically Cricket 22 looks decent. There are plenty of teams families can play within Cricket 22. The modes are a bit on the light side in Cricket 22. There are a variety of options players can utilize in bowling and batting within Cricket 22. We noticed Cricket 22 seems a bit slanted towards the batters. Maybe we just had issues picking up the bowling section. We both had issues with not bowling properly even after hitting the buttons. Fielding is a major pain in Cricket 22. This was the case in the last game we played as well.

Cricket 22 looks nice and has fun music playing. We turned off the music to avoid any potential copyright issues and some audio copyright owner demanding all of the revenue for our hard work. If you like playing career mode in sports games then you will not be disappointed with Cricket 22. I would love to see some faster modes included in sequels to Cricket 22. For example maybe make a game one inning, or three batters out to finish an inning. Just having the option would be nice in my opinion.

Our biggest take aways from Cricket 22 is this sport has some really long games. I did some research and found the longest cricket game in history was nine days. I am not sure a streamer playing eight hours could get through one game in Cricket 22. Unless they simulate a portion of the game like we did. I like learning about different sports and Cricket 22 did that for me. I am thankful we got a free copy of Cricket 22 on Xbox Game Pass.
