Cyber Pool

I appreciate Family Friendly Gaming being given a digital download code for Cyber Pool on the Nintendo Switch. I was unable to find any physical copy versions of Cyber Pool in the United States at the time this review was written. Cyber Pool is in an interesting take on the billiards concept. We play in and with forty different tables in Cyber Pool. Trust me these tables are way different from what you are used to. Maybe there is only one hole right in the middle for example.

Cyber Pool has a neon visual theme going for it. The balls will light up the table below and around them. This is a pretty nice little effect. There are some things going on in the background with Cyber Pool as well. The music is okay in Cyber Pool. It might grow on you. It never annoyed me like the music in some other games. The music goes for a bit of a techno flair and flavor.

The modes within Cyber Pool are Normal, Classic, Challenge, Cooperation, Race, and Battle. If you are a casual or family gamer then I recommend you start in the normal mode. Many of the other modes will limit how many shots you have. I also noticed that it was game over if I knocked the cue ball into one of the holes. Cyber Pool does not even give us another chance after that. We must start all over again.

My biggest complaint against Cyber Pool is the difficulty and controls. We have a white line that extends a little ways from the ball. We are constantly having to move that line around to line up the next ball. If the ball is too far away then we are guessing if we lined it up right. I have played plenty of pool games where the line goes to the ball and shows which way the ball will go. If the ball is close it will show which way the ball goes in Cyber Pool.

Cyber Pool is very challenging. I got so frustrated when I got down to the last ball and knocked in the cue ball. I had to start all over. I looked around for some setting that let me keep playing but never found it. It took me twenty or more hits to get down to only one ball so obviously I needed that assist. To play additional tables players must beat the previous ones. It would have also been cool to just see all the other tables.

I love the idea of the different tables within Cyber Pool. I love the futuristic feel to Cyber Pool. I just wish this game had a way for families and casual members to make it through the game easier. At least let us get the cue ball in the holes three times before failing. Or show us our time and add a time penalty for it. Here I go again giving out ideas to game developers to make their products better that I will never be financially compensated for.
