G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #288
SCORE: 62
When I started to read comic books again I started G.I. Joe A Real
American Hero on issue #290. This was after the Saturday morning G.I.
Joe A Real American Hero comic books. I recently saw G.I. Joe A Real
American Hero #288 for sale at a local comic book store for the normal
cover price. I decided to purchase it and review it when I had the time.
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #288 is a one shot about Lt. Falcon. He is
eager to become a Green Beret like his father. While at the John F.
Kennedy Special Warfare Museum he gets some good advice from Sgt.
Mendoza. Please note there will be spoilers in this review.
What is the advice Vincent Falcone receives in G.I. Joe A Real American
Hero #288? He is told to go to college and join the ROTC program.
Vincent wanted to join the military right after high school. He takes
the advice and winds up as a Green Beret. There is a mission in G.I. Joe
A Real American Hero #288 where three Americans are taken hostage by
fascists. Lt Falcon goes in there alone and rescues them. He saves two
of the three. One of them gets killed because he refuses to continue to
dig his own grave in the woods.
The issues families will have with G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #288
are blood, violence, and more. G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #288 makes
a fatal mistake in labeling fascists on the political right. They are
actually on the political left. This mistake has been made by those on
the political left to try and deceive people on where certain groups
actually lie. I heard an interesting debate on this topic where someone
pointed out the political spectrum is not a line but a circle. In their
mind it depends where you put the differentiator. They also acknowledged
that fascism is on the political left.
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #288 starts with a Sitrep so we know what
to expect. From there we get twenty pages of content, next months cover,
and some advertisements. The front cover to G.I. Joe A Real American
Hero #288 makes little sense to me. None of the characters on the front
cover of G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #288 (Cover A) are in G.I. Joe A
Real American Hero #288. The other front covers make much more sense to
me. They are right below the Sitrep on the backside of the cover page.
Law and Order are joined by Fastdraw in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero
#288. Those are the two soldiers that Lt Falcon winds up saving. The
soldiers get injured but still bring in a colonel from the opposing side
as a prisoner. They are then recruited into G.I.Joe. They are not sure
they can trust these shady suits but decide to see where it goes. I find
it odd that these characters are recruited into G.I. Joe so late into
the comic book. It is neat to see them. Maybe all of G.I. Joe A Real
American Hero #288 is a flashback.
