G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #291
SCORE: 69
This is more of the G.I. Joe experience I have been expecting. G.I.
Joe A Real American Hero #291 is what I am used to. The backside of the
front cover with all kinds of information about the comic book and the
company behind it also references what is happening. G.I. Joe A Real
American Hero #291 is the first part of High Stakes. There is a corrupt
casino on Cobra Island. The Joe team is on a mission to save hostages on
a train. There are also flashback memories that confused me a bit.
I am totally unsure of who Dawn is in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero
#291. She is like a female Snake Eyes but has some of his memories
somehow. Dawn, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Stalker and Mongoose (another
character I am not familiar with) are on this mission. We flash back and
forth between a jungle war (Vietnam perhaps) and modern day. We also
flash over to Dr Mindbender and Laura 343 (a female Crimson Guardsman)
in the casino.
The issues families can and will have with G.I. Joe A Real American Hero
#291 are violence, blood, lack of attire, and more. There is talk of
hostages, clones, casinos and more. G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #291
feels really science fiction based on being able to record someone's
memories and let others use them. Or to be able to use them yourself. I
think Dr. Mindbender plans on making his very own Snake Eyes clone that
is loyal to Cobra. I am not clear on how that would work. It also does
not sound very ethical.
There are twenty pages of some nice art in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero
#291. There is also reference to a new and improved Brainwave scanner in
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #291. This could brainwash anyone to be
whomever the person using the device wants the other person to be. I
remember that device from the past G.I. Joe comic books. G.I. Joe A Real
American Hero #291 has action, intrigue and more in it. There are also
plenty of things being setup in this storyline.
The flashbacks can be pretty scary in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero
#291. Dawn is having issues with the memories of Snake Eyes. Does he
still have his memories? I have no idea how that happened. I may need to
dig into some past issues of G.I. Joe and figure out what has been
happening with these characters. G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #291 is
definitely for the older members of the family only. There are numerous
depictions of war in this comic book.
