I am Groot #2

Once I had an opportunity to continue this comic book series on Marvel Unlimited I dove right in. I am Groot #2 continues the story of Groot being on this alien world Terminal which is in another galaxy. The portal opens quite often to their world. Sadly not everything that gets sucked in survives. In I am Groot #2 we see these different animals get turned to bones. One of them actually reverts to a younger form and survives. We also find out whom Groot will need to go through to get home.

There is an administrator in I am Groot #2. His teeth fall in one scene so we avoid any potential profanity there. The administrator wants to get his hands on Groot. Why? All creatures that come to this planet from another world want to go home. The administrator does not believe this is possible and will cause turmoil on the planet Terminal. In essence the administrator wants to nip that in the bud. There is reference to the portal storms in I am Groot #2.

Groot has all kinds of communication issues within I am Groot #2. He finds out about this temple to some false gods where there is some form of universal translator. Groot is warned to never go there. I think you can guess what Groot does. Groot teaches us to be disobedient and do whatever you want. There is all kinds of peril for Groot in that temple. There are ugly creatures there that want your coins. I am Groot #2 is very predictable in everything that happens.

The art in I am Groot #2 continues to be decent. There is plenty of comedy within I am Groot #2. Groot repeats his well known phrase over and over again in I am Groot #2. There are characters that understand he is saying different things based on tonal influctions. They are just not sure what he is saying. I expect Groot to come face to face with the administrator at some point in the future of this series.

I am Groot #2 fell off a bit from the first issue for me personally. There are still some interesting aspects to this story. I am interested in seeing where it goes. At the same time the leader of Terminal looks like a buffoon. I appreciate how Buddy helps Groot in I am Groot #2. Buddy also helped Groot in the first issue. The portal is still a bit of a mystery in some aspects. It seems to be a fixed point to roaming worm hole.
