Instant Farmer
SCORE: 78
Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital
download code for Instant Farmer on the Nintendo Switch. Families can
also find Instant Farmer on the Personal Computer on the Steam platform.
I did some research and was unable to find a physical copy version of
Instant Farmer. Not even on a really cool system that has indie games
like the Evercade. I am unclear on whether Instant Farmer works on the
Steam Deck. I did some research and was unable to find a definitive
answer. My thought is Instant Farmer probably works on Steam Deck. There
is a compatibility check that you can run on the Valve website, but
since we have it on the Nintendo Switch we are unable to perform that
check.
Instant Farmer is similar to Island Farmer in the fact there is no
tutorial. You get into the first level and must figure out what to do.
There are different 3D looking tiles in Instant Farmer. There are
certain tiles that can grow plants if they are connected to a water
tile. So the player must arrange the tiles in such a way that all of the
plants get watered. We can swap any two tiles on the map in Instant
Farmer.
If you get stuck in Instant Farmer then you are stuck. There is no hint
system in Instant Farmer that I could find. I did get myself stuck in
levels in Instant Farmer. That led to frustration, irritation,
aggitation, and aggravation. I also had no idea what certain things did
in Instant Farmer. There are certain 3D tiles that will water the area
around them for example. I had to test things to figure out what they
did.
I ran into another issue while playing Instant Farmer. I could not
always tell what tile I was on. For some reason the highlighting of a
tile was hidden by objects on the tile or nearby tiles. At times I hit
the A button to see where I was because that tile would raise a little
bit. If you like the western style of music then you will enjoy
listening to Instant Farmer while you play.
Instant Farmer is an interesting puzzle video game that could use some
additional fleshing out. What is going on in this world? Why are we
watering the plants? I feel like there is some back story that I am
missing because the game never explained anything to me. The lack of
history to help me connect with the game. I like the fact there are
fifty levels in Instant Farmer. To unlock levels the player must
complete the current one they are on. I wish Instant Farmer let me play
any level at any time or at least a few ahead because I got stuck and
was unable to continue.
